The Blanquirrojos dropped two more points at the Sanchez Pizjuan
Sevilla had all the chances to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing home draw against the another Andalucian club Malaga, a result which kept them away from joining Real Madrid in second spot on the Primera Division standings.
But Valladolid took full advantage of Sevilla’s slow start when they took a surprise lead on 34 minutes. Diego Costa whipped in a cross for Manucho who send a header past Andres Palop.
Sevilla got the advantage after 40 minutes when Valladolid were reduced to ten men after Borja got a straight red card for a rough tackle on Diego Perotti.
Sevilla were levelled after Alberto Marcos brought down Jesus Navas inside the box and Luis Fabiano took full advantage from the penalty.
On the hour mark, Luis Fabiano had a great opportunity to put the hosts in front when he totally unmarked inside the box headed just over the bar. As the clock ticked down, the desperation started to show as Fabiano, Perotti and Alvaro Negredo and substitute Arouna Kone all peppered Justo Villar’s goal with half-decent chances, but none could ripple the back of the net.
Fabiano scored his 8th goal, but Sevilla stumbled to yet another draw at home and two more lost points.
